Nutribullet vs Ninja: Which Is The Better Brand for Blending?

When it comes to searching for the best blender for your smoothie needs, there are two brands everyone trusts and mentions: The Nutribullet and Ninja. Even I always hear about the reviews on these two brands because of their well-made blenders.

Honestly, I was tempted to get both brands. However, I could only select one for my own kitchen, and all these reviews made it so difficult to choose between the two. I'm sure you're feeling the same way in selecting one as well, which is why I did the research and tests to show you the complete Nutribullet vs Ninja comparison to help you out!

Why Choose to Blender?

Choose to Blender

Before anything else, what are the advantages of owning a personal blender (regardless of the brand)? Here are just some of its benefits:

Save Time and Effort With Meal Prep

What I love about blending is that you don't only use it for smoothies, but they can also be for meal preps, when pulverizing nuts or blending ingredients to juices.

Healthy Smoothies

A blender for green smoothies can help you get your five-a-day easily (your kids will like it, too)! With a quality blender, you save a ton of time and effort staying healthy.

Light and Small Size

Nutribullet and Ninja personal blenders are known to be small and compact, which is great for traveling or when saving space in the kitchen.

Easy to Use and Take

Another benefit for both Nutribullet and Ninja blenders is that they have understandable instructions and you can take the cups for on-the-go smoothies without the need to transfer it to another cup or jug.

My Review on the Nutribullet Blender

NutriBullet NBR-1201

In this article, I want to review the NutriBullet NBR-1201!

I appreciate the fact that the Nutribullet NBR-1201 comes with the complete package. It has one tall cup, two show cups, two types of blades and lids, as well as a manual with recipes and nutrition advice! Basically, it's got everything you need to start blending up some healthy smoothies and other recipes.

While it has a 600W motor (not as powerful as the Nutri Ninja Pro), it actually does quite an amazing job in pulverizing and blending various ingredients, even the ones that are tough, large, and/or include stems and skin! It does the job in breaking down my ingredients carefully and quickly, so it only takes a few minutes to create my usual breakfast protein shake.

I've been using it at least once a day and it still does its job excellently, so it does look like it can last despite daily usage. Plus, it's easy to use and manage, making it well worth its price.

  • Easy to clean and use
  • Can pulverize and blend any ingredient efficiently
  • Lasts for a long time despite daily use

  • Some complaints of leakage
  • May require replacement of blades every few months

My Review on the Ninja Blender

Ninja Nutri Pro Personal Blender

In this article, I want to review the Ninja Nutri Pro Personal Blender!

What I love about the Ninja Nutri Pro Personal Blender is that it comes with a powerful 900W professional motor, which is best suited for breaking down fruits and vegetables. When I tried this out, it blended my ingredients within seconds and I had no trouble when blending frozen fruits for yogurts and smoothies.

It's able to pulse frozen ingredients easily, creating the smooth and even consistency I love for my smoothies and shakes. I also commend its BPA-free cups, which are strong and resilient. It doesn't leak while blending or when I'm taking a full cup with me to work, so there are no worries about spills and messes as long as you do NOT overfill the blender.

From its fantastic power down to the convenient cups, I can say it's worth the price and it seems like it can last for a long time!

  • Powerful motor can blend fruits and vegetables to even consistency
  • Solid materials that are built to last
  • Easy to use and take out for on-the-go drinking

  • Takes a bit of time and effort to pulverize skin and stems
  • Not as easy to clean compared to the Nutribullet

What Are Their Main Differences?

Nutribullet vs Ninja

Now that you know how both the Nutribullet and Ninja blender work, what makes the both of them different from one another? Here are their main features and their differences:

This is the major difference between both brands. The Nutribullet has a 600W motor, while the Ninja Nutri has a 900W one. While this makes the latter quicker in pulverizing and blending, I believe that the Nutribullet is stronger as it can take tougher ingredients, while the Ninja Nutri is best for "softer" ingredients, or frozen ones.

They're both reasonably similar though and don't have setting variations, which is a bit of a letdown.

Blade Comparison

Blade Blender

I can see that the Ninja Nutri Pro has ticker blades compared to the Nutribullet, and because it's able to blend at both top and bottom, it processes ingredients and extracts its vitamins more efficiently compared to the Nutribullet.

However, the con here is that the Ninja Nutri Pro requires you to break down its frozen ingredients to emulsify and blend it as well as you want it.

This is where Nutribullet wins, as it comes with various-sized cups for your preference, while the Ninja Nutri only comes with one (though take note this depends on the package, I just compared both based on the pricing).

Both of these cups are non-toxic and BPA-free, as well as them being portable with on-the-go lids. Nutribullet is stronger, while Ninja is slimmer (to fit in most cup holders).

Blending Performance

It's quite difficult to differentiate their blending performances, as both produce the fine and smooth consistency with whatever you blend. However, I believe that leafy greens and thicker ingredients are perfectly processed with the Nutribullet, while the leafy greens and seedy ingredients are best for Ninja Nutri, because of its thicker blades.

The difference is BARELY noticeable, as you just need to blend the ingredients a bit longer with the Nutribullet.

Durability and Reliability

When looking at the materials and how it blends, the Nutribullet has a bit more of the edge compared to the Ninja. I believe that even when using it daily, Nutribullet still does well in blending, while there have been complaints on the Ninja's motor being a bit dysfunctional even after just a year. Furthermore, sports nutritionists use the Nutribullet, so it's a trusted brand!

The price of both blenders tends to vary, depending on the retailer you purchase it from. You simply need to watch out for sales and compare prices depending on the seller and package.

Both of these products are similarly-priced, though I feel like I get more value from the Nutribullet because of its complete package. But, you may be able to find the best deals for either unit on Amazon!

Which Is the Better Brand?

Based on the reviews, tests, and comparison between the Nutribullet vs Ninja, which is the better brand?

Honestly, I don't believe that there is the best brand made for everyone, especially since they serve for anyone who needs a blender for protein shakes and green smoothies.

Both brands each have their advantages and disadvantages and selecting which one's best for you depends on what you need and prefer.

The Nutribullet is best for those who want to make soups and smoothies, or even for meal prep when you need to blend ingredients which are larger and might have stems or skin left.

But if you usually use soft ingredients for making smoothies or dips, then you'll appreciate the Ninja Nutri Pro, especially since it doesn't leak as much compared to the Nutribullet (but this depends on how you use and care for it, of course).

Despite that, I believe that both the blenders are suitable for any specific blending needs, just with the slight difference between the price and accessories available.

If you're still stuck on what to choose, here's an informative video showing you what features to consider when purchasing  blender:

Wrapping It Up

Owning a blender is the best way to save time on kitchen prep while staying healthy with delicious smoothie recipes. However, with the many types of blenders available, it can get quite difficult to select the best one. With the Nutribullet and Ninja, they each have their own pros and cons that make each suitable depending on what you need it for. Personally, I like the Nutribullet, but that doesn't mean it's a better brand for everyone!

With much research, you'll be able to find one brand you'll truly enjoy. So I hope that this Nutribullet vs Ninja comparison gave you an idea on what you should invest in for the kitchen. So don't wait any longer and look into these features to make the right selection now.
